Rally this weekend, crash training today

Magic and I are going to Des Moines for APDT next weekend.  He did pretty well a couple of weeks ago, but I would like to do better. So we have been practicing a bit. It seems tha tMagic has completely lost his ability to respond to cerrtain word - important words. Words like Front and Down.  He used to know these things. Do dogs like husbands suddenly stop listening?

In the case of husbands, mine never started listening, so how can he stop? Hope Magic does better.

Selective hearing is definitely a male trait -- human and dog. "Magic, cookie?"

Des Moines? We used to go to Des Moines regularly for their agility trial. It's one of my favorites, and I'll be back as soon as I have a dog to run again.

We'll have to meet there for a trial sometime.

Good luck this weekend! Hopefully Magic wlll regain his hearing.

Oooh, I've always found crash training like this. I don't know how they do it, but dogs seem to know when you have a trial coming up, and stop listening to key words during the week beforehand, just to freak you out. Or at least... that's what Maisy does, lol. I just don't train the week of anymore.

Also: SO JEALOUS. I really wanted to go to Des Moines- I had a great time at their trial last summer- but Maisy just isn't ready yet. :(

Good luck! I know you'll do great!!
