Shut Up, Dawn!

I have to learn to shut up! Go ahead, say what your thinking, you would be right. Tonight we were not allowed to give commands in agility class other than our release words, praise where earned. I learned that Magic totally relies on my verbal directions and he really doesn't get the body language thing, so if I am out of breath, or don't get the commands out fast enough, he is confused. He doesnt think to look for me as much as to listen to me. which really does explain why we are better at distance where he gets directions rather than looking so much to my movement. So I need to learn to be quiet, while he learns the movement. Not sure if I can do that!

That is so hard to do -- "don't drop that shoulder", "keep your foot turned in". It's just so much easier to yell "walk", "tunnel", "teeter", "table". Yep,I'm trying to learn the body language as well. Of course, Chase is so far ahead of me that I don't believe my body language matters anway ))

Exactly Penni, that has always been our issue, Magic moves fast and I dont! so I was always directing from the rear.

I think one of the tough things about running silent is sometimes you've been unintentionally lying. Your body says one thing and your mouth says another. It is definitely a useful exercise.

Ugh my instructors used to make me do that too...at the time thankfully I had Zach, who was more the steady-reliable type than the fast-excited type. :) It is REALLY useful but hard!! LOL
